Nippon Life India Asset Management Reports Highest-Ever Quarterly PAT of ₹504 Crore in Q1 FY27, Up 27% YoY

Nippon Life India Asset Management Limited (NAM India), the manager of Nippon India Mutual Fund (NIMF), announced its unaudited consolidated financial results and business operational performance for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026. Powered by robust market share gains and expanding systematic investment inflows, the asset manager delivered its highest-ever quarterly operating profit and profit after tax.

Financial Highlights: Record Net Profit & Revenue Expansion

Total Income: Reached ₹937.08 crore (₹9.37 billion) in Q1 FY27, marking a 24.5% year-on-year (YoY) increase from ₹752.61 crore in Q1 FY26 and a 32.9% sequential (QoQ) expansion over ₹705.20 crore in Q4 FY26.

Revenue from Operations: Grew 26.4% YoY to ₹766.87 crore during the quarter under review, up from ₹606.61 crore in Q1 FY26 and ₹738.73 crore in Q4 FY26.

Other Income: Rebound sharply to ₹170.21 crore in Q1 FY27, compared to ₹146.00 crore in Q1 FY26 and a negative ₹33.53 crore in Q4 FY26.

Operating Profit: Expanded 31% YoY to ₹494 crore (₹4.94 billion) for the quarter.

Profit Before Tax (PBT): Rose 26.8% YoY to ₹664.49 crore in Q1 FY27 compared to ₹523.89 crore in Q1 FY26 and ₹459.79 crore in Q4 FY26.

Net Profit After Tax (PAT): Reached a record high of ₹503.70 crore (₹5.04 billion) for Q1 FY27, up 27.2% YoY from ₹396.12 crore in Q1 FY26 and up 30.9% QoQ from ₹384.72 crore in Q4 FY26.

Total Comprehensive Income: Stood at ₹502.69 crore for Q1 FY27, compared to ₹392.00 crore in Q1 FY26.

Operating Expenditure Breakdown

Total expenses for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, stood at ₹272.59 crore, up 19.2% YoY from ₹228.72 crore in Q1 FY26:

Employee Benefits Expense: Increased to ₹138.81 crore, up from ₹122.64 crore in Q1 FY26 and ₹125.92 crore in Q4 FY26.

Fee and Commission Expenses: Stood at ₹20.33 crore, compared to ₹18.63 crore in CPLY and ₹20.32 crore in Q4 FY26.

Other Expenses: Rose to ₹99.92 crore in Q1 FY27 from ₹77.21 crore in Q1 FY26 and ₹85.37 crore in Q4 FY26.

Depreciation & Amortisation: Stood at ₹11.96 crore.

Finance Costs: Remained stable at ₹1.57 crore.

Tax Expense: Total tax provision for Q1 FY27 came in at ₹161.40 crore (Current Tax: ₹136.54 crore; Deferred Tax: ₹24.86 crore), up from ₹128.21 crore in Q1 FY26.

Operational & Business Highlights

Total Closing AUM: Expanded 16% YoY to reach ₹8.62 trillion (₹8,62,000 crore / US$ 91.1 billion).

Mutual Fund QAAUM: NIMF's Quarterly Average Assets Under Management grew 23% YoY to ₹7.52 trillion (₹7,52,000 crore), making it the fastest-growing AMC among the top 10 players.

Market Share Surge: MF QAAUM market share improved by 54 basis points YoY to 9.04%.

Equity & ETF Growth: Equity MF QAAUM surged 22% YoY to ₹3.51 trillion (+34 bps market share gain). ETF QAAUM jumped 40% YoY to ₹2.43 trillion, capturing a 159 bps YoY market share increase.

Systematic Inflows (SIP): Quarterly systematic flows rose 13% YoY to ₹110.3 billion (₹11,030 crore), taking the annualized systematic book to approximately ₹446 billion.

Retail & B-30 Reach: Retail Monthly Average AUM (MAAUM) rose 16% YoY to ₹2.18 trillion. Beyond-Top-30 (B-30) city AUM grew 24% YoY to ₹1.56 trillion, constituting 20.5% of NIMF's total AUM (versus the industry average of 18.5%).

Investor Base & Digital Adoption: Unique investor base expanded to 24.1 million, commanding an industry-leading 39.0% market share. Digital transactions jumped 26% YoY to 4.49 million, accounting for 78% of all new purchase transactions.

Share Capital & EPS Performance

Paid-Up Equity Share Capital: Stood at ₹639.30 crore (face value of ₹10 per share).

Earnings Per Share: Basic EPS increased to ₹7.89 per share in Q1 FY27 from ₹6.24 in Q1 FY26 and ₹6.04 in Q4 FY26. Diluted EPS rose to ₹7.75 per share.

Net Sales market share improved QoQ, while SIP market share was steady - importantly both remain well above Equity AUM market share.
