Adani Energy Solutions Delivers Strong Performance in Q1 FY27 as Net Profit More Than Doubles to ₹1,236.56 Crore

Adani Energy Solutions Limited (CIN: L40300GJ2013PLC077803), headquartered at Adani Corporate House, Shantigram, Near Vaishno Devi Circle, S.G. Highway, Khodiyar, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, has released its consolidated unaudited financial results for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026. The power transmission, distribution, smart metering, and energy solutions giant reported major growth across top-line revenue, operational profitability, and overall net profit compared to the same period in the previous financial year.

Top-Line Revenue Growth Driven by Core Business Segments

For the quarter ended June 30, 2026, Adani Energy Solutions recorded Revenue from Operations of ₹9,711.08 crore, reflecting a 42.4% year-on-year increase compared to ₹6,819.28 crore in the quarter ended June 30, 2025 (Q1 FY26). On a sequential basis, revenue grew 30.5% from ₹7,443.27 crore in the quarter ended March 31, 2026 (Q4 FY26). Total Income for Q1 FY27 reached ₹9,852.20 crore, compared to ₹7,025.49 crore in Q1 FY26 and ₹7,588.08 crore in Q4 FY26, supported by ₹141.12 crore in other income.

Gross turnover across segments stood at ₹9,265.53 crore for the quarter. Distribution remained the largest individual revenue contributor at ₹3,520.43 crore (up from ₹3,359.84 crore in Q1 FY26), followed closely by Transmission at ₹3,335.26 crore (up from ₹2,188.19 crore in Q1 FY26).

The Energy Solutions Platform experienced exponential growth, generating ₹1,906.83 crore in segment revenue during Q1 FY27 compared to ₹209.71 crore in Q1 FY26. Smart Metering contributed ₹346.99 crore (up from ₹112.00 crore in Q1 FY26), while other business segments brought in ₹156.02 crore.

Surge in Profitability and Margin Expansion

Operating performance improved noticeably, with total expenses standing at ₹8,439.71 crore for Q1 FY27 compared to ₹5,863.55 crore in Q1 FY26. Key cost elements included ₹3,560.70 crore in power purchase costs, ₹2,137.67 crore in construction expenses relating to service concession arrangements, ₹1,151.73 crore in finance costs, ₹585.35 crore in depreciation and amortization, and ₹227.97 crore in employee benefit expenses.

Profit Before Tax and deferred assets recoverable/adjustable reached ₹1,441.04 crore in Q1 FY27, more than doubling from ₹658.05 crore in Q1 FY26 and rising 58.3% sequentially from ₹910.07 crore in Q4 FY26. Total tax expenses for the quarter stood at ₹155.91 crore (comprising ₹250.48 crore in current tax and a deferred tax credit of ₹94.57 crore).

Net Profit After Tax (PAT) for the quarter rose 129.4% year-on-year to ₹1,236.56 crore, compared to ₹538.94 crore in Q1 FY26 and ₹722.65 crore in Q4 FY26. Profit attributable to owners of the company reached ₹1,149.06 crore, while non-controlling interest accounted for ₹87.50 crore.

Financial efficiency metrics expanded alongside earnings:

Operating Margin (EBITDA excluding Other Income / Revenue from Operations): Expanded to 31.27% in Q1 FY27 from 26.55% in Q1 FY26 and 29.92% in Q4 FY26.

Net Profit Margin (PAT / Total Income): Increased to 12.55% in Q1 FY27 compared to 7.67% in Q1 FY26 and 9.52% in Q4 FY26.

Segment Wise Operating Performance

Segment-wise Profit Before Interest and Tax (PBIT) totaled ₹2,455.01 crore for the quarter prior to unallocable income and finance cost deductions:

Transmission: Generated the highest segment profit at ₹1,327.46 crore, up from ₹927.18 crore in Q1 FY26.

Energy Solutions Platform: Recorded a dramatic expansion in segment result to ₹590.27 crore, up from ₹17.46 crore in Q1 FY26.

Distribution: Delivered ₹356.92 crore in segment profit compared to ₹302.79 crore in Q1 FY26.

Smart Metering: Contributed ₹152.61 crore, expanding from ₹47.52 crore in Q1 FY26.

Others: Generated ₹27.75 crore in segment profit.

Key Balance Sheet Metrics and Ratios

Adani Energy Solutions maintained a stable financial framework and leverage profile as of June 30, 2026:

Paid-Up Equity Share Capital: Remained unchanged at ₹1,201.28 crore (face value of ₹10 per share).

Net Worth: Rose to ₹25,418.41 crore, up from ₹22,523.62 crore as of June 30, 2025, and ₹24,271.24 crore as of March 31, 2026.

Total Assets: Expanded to ₹97,680.23 crore, compared to ₹78,345.83 crore as of June 30, 2025, with Transmission assets accounting for ₹53,194.19 crore and Distribution assets accounting for ₹21,959.11 crore.

Debt Service Coverage Ratio (DSCR): Improved to 2.26 times in Q1 FY27 from 1.71 times in Q1 FY26 and 2.01 times in Q4 FY26.

Interest Service Coverage Ratio (ISCR): Strengthened to 2.25 times from 1.74 times in Q1 FY26 and 1.95 times in Q4 FY26.

Current Ratio: Reported at 1.16 times.

Basic & Diluted Earnings Per Share (EPS): Increased to ₹9.57 per share (after net movement in regulatory account deferral balance) from ₹4.27 per share in Q1 FY26. Before net movement in regulatory deferral balances, EPS stood at ₹9.44 per share.
