Jindal Worldwide Enters EV Market; Subsidiary to Launch 'R40' Electric Scooter with ₹100 Crore FY27 Revenue Target

Textile and infrastructure conglomerate Jindal Worldwide Limited (NSE: JINDWORLD; BSE: 531543) today announced its formal entry into the electric vehicle sector. The company stated that its electric mobility subsidiary, Jindal Mobilitric Private Limited, is set to commence commercial operations with the launch of its maiden electric scooter, the R40.

The high-performance, urban commuter scooter is currently completing its final homologation phases (regulatory testing for roadworthiness), with commercial fleet dispatches scheduled to begin by the end of July 2026.

Product Specifications and Launch Metrics

Developed entirely via Jindal Mobilitric's in-house research and development infrastructure, the R40 targets the mass-premium commuter ecosystem:

Claimed Range: The scooter delivers an ARAI-standard certified range of 165 kilometers on a single charge.

Initial Order Pipeline: Ahead of physical dispatches, the company has secured a firm advance order book of approximately 1,000 units, establishing clear operational visibility for its initial assembly line runs.

Retail Reach: The company's distribution network spans 35 operational dealerships across India, with an active expansion blueprint to scale to 100 dealerships within the next 12 months.

Mega Manufacturing Complex in Ahmedabad

To optimize production costs and ensure component quality control, Jindal Mobilitric has set up an integrated, vertically synchronized production hub in Ahmedabad, Gujarat:

Vehicle Assembly Capacity: Features an installed annual production capacity of 2.5 lakh electric two-wheelers.

Captive Battery Facility: Houses an automated, in-house battery manufacturing facility with an equivalent annual capacity of 2.5 lakh battery packs. This in-house sourcing structure isolates the company from third-party supply chain bottlenecks and maintains high hermetic safety standards.

Mid-Term Revenue and Turnover Projections

Supported by initial order momentum and the planned retail rollout, management has issued clear financial guidance for its newly formed automobile vertical:

The Projected Annual Turnover target for the Financial Years is as below:

FY 2026-27 (FY27) - ₹100 Crore

FY 2027-28 (FY28) - ₹350 Crore

"Jindal Mobilitric represents an important milestone in our vision of building future-ready businesses. We believe the R40 is well-positioned to meet the growing demand for safe, reliable and technologically advanced electric mobility solutions. Supported by an encouraging order book and an expanding dealership network, we expect Jindal Mobilitric to generate a turnover of approximately ₹100 crore in FY 2027 and ₹350 crore in FY 2028." - Mr. Amit Agarwal, Vice-Chairman & Managing Director, Jindal Worldwide Limited.
