Coromandel International Ltd updates on ammonia leak

In a notification to the stock exchange, Coromandel International Limited has clarified in reference to ammonia leak near Chennai.

As part of routine operation, we noticed abnormality on 26/12/2023 at 23.30 hrs in the ammonia unloading subsea pipeline near shoreside, outside the plant premises. Our Standard Operating Procedure activated immediately, and we have isolated ammonia system facility and brought the situation to normalcy in the shortest time.

During the process, few members in the local community expressed discomfort and were given medical attention immediately. All are safe and normalcy is restored. We have informed relevant authorities about the incident. Coromandel has always adhered to the highest safety standards and emergency response system.

Shares of Coromandel International Limited was last trading in BSE at Rs. 1262.05 as compared to the previous close of Rs. 1230.05. The total number of shares traded during the day was 11443 in over 920 trades.

The stock hit an intraday high of Rs. 1267.00 and intraday low of 1227.85. The net turnover during the day was Rs. 14330032.00.
