Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd to launch Autonomous Underwater Vehicle

Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd is launching an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) on Friday 28 Jul 2023.

The AUV is lightweight and man-portable one that GRSE developed in collaboration with M/s Aerospace Engineering Private Ltd. (AEPL) as an industry partner. It has been designed to operate in a totally autonomous manner and its modular design enables it to carry out a variety of roles depending on the payload. This can be used for mine detection, Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) training, underwater inspection, search and rescue missions or scientific exploration. The development of this AUV is also a major step towards indigenisation in keeping with the nation's 'Atmanirbharta' policy.

This is GRSE's first move towards the development of AUVs. GRSE also plans to unveil its ship-based Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) and Unmanned Surface Vessel (ASV) by the end of the year.

As the new product is in developmental stage the financial implication has not yet been ascertained.

Shares of Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Limited was last trading in BSE at Rs. 607.00 as compared to the previous close of Rs. 607.90. The total number of shares traded during the day was 39994 in over 1824 trades.

The stock hit an intraday high of Rs. 617.65 and intraday low of 603.00. The net turnover during the day was Rs. 24348438.00.
