Asian Paints Ltd had earlier announced that Asian Paints (Polymers) Private Limited ("APPPL"), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company, would be setting up a manufacturing facility for Vinyl Acetate Ethylene Emulsion (VAE) & Vinyl Acetate Monomer (VAM) and Ethylene storage & handling facility in Dahej, Gujarat. The total approximate cost of setting up the said facilities was expected to be Rs. 2,560 crores.
The Board of Directors at its meeting held today, i.e. 27th March 2025, approved an additional capex cost of Rs. 690 crores on account of pre - operative expenses and certain escalations in project costs. The aggregate project cost now stands at Rs. 3,250 crores. The cost of the project would be funded through a combination of equity funding by the Company in APPPL and external debt financing.
Shares of Asian Paints Limited was last trading in BSE at Rs. 2338.20 as compared to the previous close of Rs. 2326.20. The total number of shares traded during the day was 105551 in over 8980 trades.
