NMDC Records Historic Growth: Annual Iron Ore Production Surges to 53 Million Tonnes in FY26

NMDC Limited, India's premier iron ore producer, has reported a stellar performance for the financial year ending March 31, 2026. According to the provisional data released under SEBI regulations, the company achieved a significant jump in both production and sales volumes, driven by massive monthly gains in its Chhattisgarh and Karnataka sectors.

For the full fiscal year (Upto March 2026), NMDC's cumulative production reached 53.15 million tonnes (MT), reflecting a robust growth of approximately 20.6% over the 44.07 MT produced in the previous fiscal year. Total sales for the year also saw a healthy climb, rising to 50.23 MT from 44.40 MT in FY25.

The month of March 2026 was particularly strong, with total monthly production hitting 5.35 MT compared to 3.55 MT in March 2025-a remarkable 50.7% year-on-year monthly increase. Chhattisgarh remains the primary contributor, accounting for over 70% of the total annual output. These figures underscore NMDC's operational efficiency and its pivotal role in meeting the rising demand of the domestic steel industry.

Shares of NMDC Limited was last trading in BSE at Rs. 78.15 as compared to the previous close of Rs. 76.27. The total number of shares traded during the day was 1247758 in over 7155 trades.

The stock hit an intraday high of Rs. 79.49 and intraday low of 77.75. The net turnover during the day was Rs. 98147032.00.
