MTNL Q3 net profit up 90% at Rs.224.015 Crores, announces 30% interim dividend

Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) has announced the following Unaudited results for the quarter ended December 31, 2006:

The Company has posted a net profit of Rs 2240.15 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2006 as compared to Rs 1175.83 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2005. Total Income has increased from Rs 13517.08 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2005 to Rs 14492.62 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2006.

The Company has approved the payment of Interim Dividend for the F.Y. 2006-07 @ 30% (i.e. Rs 3/- per share) on the paid up capital of Rs 630 crores.

Further the Company has informed that, February 20, 2007 has been fixed as the record date for the purpose of payment of interim dividend.
