V-Mart Retail Reports 23% YoY Revenue Surge to ₹1,089 Crore in Q1 FY27; Net Profit Jumps 41% to ₹47 Crore

V-Mart Retail Limited (NSE: VMART, BSE: 534976), one of India's leading value fashion retailers, announced its unaudited financial results for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026 (Q1 FY27).

Driven by strong festive demand and disciplined store inventory management, the company reported a robust 23% year-on-year (YoY) revenue growth, alongside an expansion in operating margins and a 41% surge in net profit.

Executive Financial Highlights

Revenue from Operations: Climbed to ₹1,088.81 crore (₹1,08,881 lakh), up 23% YoY from ₹885.22 crore in Q1 FY26 and up 12% sequentially from ₹970.89 crore in Q4 FY26.

EBITDA: Rose 27% YoY to ₹160.64 crore (₹16,064 lakh), compared to ₹126.17 crore in Q1 FY26.

EBITDA Margin: Expanded by 50 basis points to 14.8%, against 14.3% in Q1 FY26.

Profit Before Tax (PBT): Stood at ₹59.52 crore (₹5,952 lakh), registering a sharp jump from ₹42.94 crore in Q1 FY26 and ₹11.62 crore in Q4 FY26.

Profit After Tax (PAT): Increased by 41% YoY to ₹47.21 crore (₹4,721 lakh), compared to ₹33.60 crore in the corresponding period last year. PAT margin improved to 4.3%.

Earnings Per Share (EPS): Basic EPS grew to ₹5.94 per share (face value ₹10/- each) from ₹4.23 in Q1 FY26.

Key Operational & Segment Performance

1. Store Network & Efficiency

Same-Store Sales Growth (SSSG): Recorded at 9% YoY for the quarter.

Network Expansion: V-Mart opened 15 new stores and closed 1 underperforming location during the quarter, bringing its total store count to 591 stores across 28 States & UTs (covering 50 lakh sq. ft. of retail area).

Working Capital Optimization: Per-store inventory decreased by 5% YoY, driving an 8% improvement in overall inventory holding days to 86 days as of June 30, 2026.

2. Segment Revenue & Results breakdown

Retail Trade: Revenue reached ₹1,083.48 crore (₹1,08,348 lakh) with a segment profit of ₹66.22 crore, compared to ₹879.06 crore revenue and ₹52.74 crore profit in Q1 FY26.

Digital Market Place (LimeRoad & Marketplace Channels): Generated ₹10.37 crore (₹1,037 lakh) in top-line revenue. Segment losses narrowed significantly to ₹3.23 crore from a loss of ₹5.06 crore in Q1 FY26.

Detailed Expense Breakup

Total operational expenditure for Q1 FY27 came in at ₹1,031.94 crore (₹1,03,194 lakh), compared to ₹845.21 crore in Q1 FY26:

Stock-in-Trade Purchases: ₹620.04 crore (versus ₹404.24 crore in Q1 FY26).

Inventory Changes: Adjustment of ₹93.60 crore (stock addition).

Employee Expenses: Increased to ₹111.23 crore, compared to ₹94.97 crore in Q1 FY26.

Finance Costs: Stood at ₹19.82 crore.

Depreciation & Amortization: Reported at ₹83.95 crore.

Other Operating Expenses: Totaled ₹103.30 crore.

Shares of V-Mart Retail Limited was last trading in BSE at Rs. 759.55 as compared to the previous close of Rs. 768.75. The total number of shares traded during the day was 926 in over 96 trades.

The stock hit an intraday high of Rs. 776.75 and intraday low of 752.00. The net turnover during the day was Rs. 704472.00.
