INDO SMC Limited (BSE: INDSMC) has announced the receipt of two significant domestic purchase orders totaling ₹3,525.50 Lakhs (approximately ₹35.26 Crore). The orders, both finalized on April 22, highlight the company's specialized capabilities in manufacturing Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP) products for demanding industrial environments.
The new contracts emphasize the growing industrial shift toward FRP materials, which are increasingly preferred over traditional galvanized steel due to their superior resistance to corrosion and fire.
Order 1: High-Volume Cable Management Systems
The larger of the two orders, valued at ₹2,423.50 Lakhs, was awarded by a prominent Gujarat-based composite manufacturing firm.
Scope of Work: Supply of various types of FRP Cable Trays, including perforated and ladder types, along with an extensive range of accessories such as covers, coupler plates, bend fittings, and clamps.
Execution Timeline: 6 Months.
Industrial Application: These trays are designed for use in harsh environments like Chemical Plants, Water Treatment Plants (WTP), and Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP), where metallic trays would typically succumb to chemical corrosion.
Order 2: Specialized Molded Gratings
The second order, valued at ₹1,102.00 Lakhs, comes from a reputed wholesale trader based in Ahmedabad.
Scope of Work: Supply of FRP Molded Gratings (Yellow) with specific dimensions (273 mm x 3660 mm x 25 mm) and mesh sizing.
Execution Timeline: 90 to 120 Days.
Utility: FRP gratings provide a lightweight, non-conductive, and slip-resistant flooring solution, ideal for industrial walkways and platforms exposed to moisture or corrosive liquids.
By securing these orders, INDO SMC reinforces its position in the specialized composites market. The company's focus on Fiber Reinforced Plastic offers several mechanical advantages that drive long-term value for industrial clients:
Corrosion Resistance: Unlike steel, FRP does not rust when exposed to acids or high humidity.
Strength-to-Weight Ratio: Easier and cheaper to transport and install compared to heavy metal counterparts.
Non-Conductive: Inherently safer for electrical cable management.
Fire Retardant: Critical for safety compliance in chemical and energy sectors.
Shares of INDO SMC Limited was last trading in BSE at Rs. 209.75 as compared to the previous close of Rs. 198.55. The total number of shares traded during the day was 431000 in over 391 trades.
