Ddev Plastiks Industries Ltd to venture into BESS business

The Board of Directors of Ddev Plastiks Industries Limited, at its meeting held on January 5, 2026, approved the proposal to venture into the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) business within the Renewable Energy Sector.

India is making significant strides toward a clean energy future. However, renewable sources such as solar and wind are intermittent, posing challenges for grid stability. To address this, the country is increasingly focusing on energy storage solutionsto manage variations in power generation.

According to Globe Newswire, the global BESS market is estimated to grow from USD 56.29 billion in 2024 to USD 68.70 billion in 2025 and is projected to reach USD 186.90 billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of 22.13%. In India, BESS capacity could reach 208 GWh with an estimated market value of USD 32 billion by 2030.

Aligned with this trend, the Company proposes to launch amulti-phase BESS manufacturing program aimed at catering to Utilities, Commercial & Industrial, and Residential segments. As part of Phase 1, the Company will establish a5 GWh BESS manufacturing facility by FY 2026-27, with an initial capital outlay of approximately X150-200 crores.

A key feature of this initiative will be the development of a state-of-the-art Research & Development (R&D) Centre, focused on advanced battery technologies and innovative energy storage solutions to strengthen the Company's technological capabilities and market positioning. This strategic expansion aligns with Ddev Plastiks' focus on participating in India's renewable energy transition. The new segment is expected to contribute to the Company's revenues starting from the second half of FY 2026-27.

Shares of Ddev Plastiks Industries Ltd was last trading in BSE at Rs. 302.85 as compared to the previous close of Rs. 301.60. The total number of shares traded during the day was 4547 in over 136 trades.

The stock hit an intraday high of Rs. 305.65 and intraday low of 300.05. The net turnover during the day was Rs. 1377114.00.
