Gensol Engineering Ltd has accomplished major milestone in the manufacturing of EVs, as part of its Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process, which is a structured process that includes critical tasks from concept approval through production and, essentially, aims at creating a product quality plan with all vendors & suppliers for developing and manufacturing products that meet customer requirements.
An important stage of APQP process is the "Tooling Design Release", which the Company has been able to achieve for its envisaged EV. Completing product design is the focus of this phase and to put this into perspective, the Company has been engaging with its suppliers for manufacturing all parts as per Company's designs.
Suppliers & vendors have conducted a thorough due diligence of our design, leading to the following results during this phase:
- Completed design review and verification
- Defined material specifications and equipment requirements
- Completed design failure modes and effect analysis to assess failure probabilities
- Established control plans for manufacturing and the tooling requirements
With the above outcome being achieved, the Company will commence the production of the EVs as per its slated schedule in January 2023.
Gensol Engineering is setting up an EV manufacturing plant in Chakan, Pune with a production capacity of 1,200 cars a month.
