Government signs MoU with Gail assigning targets for 2007-08

Government signed an MoU with Oil PSU Gail (India) Ltd, here today, earmarking performance targets for the Company in the next fiscal i.e. 2007-08. The MoU was signed by Shri M.S. Srinivasan, Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Dr. U. D. Choubey, Chairman and Managing Director, GAIL. Senior officials from the Government and Directors of GAIL were present on the occasion.

During the year 2007-08, to achieve the ‘Excellent target’, the Company has been assigned a target for transmission of 81.01 MMSCMD of natural gas from domestic sources and through LNG route. It includes the gas marketing target of 70.14 MMSCMD. The MoU also provides for an ‘excellent’ production target of 3,78,858 MT of polymers (HDPE and LLDPE) and about 12,17,500 MT of liquid hydrocarbons.

The Company’s performance will be assessed on key financial parameters as also dynamic parameters such as Project Implementation, Gas Sourcing, Customer Focus, Safety, Enterprise-Efficiency, etc.
