Stone India receives trial order from Indian Railways

Stone India Ltd has announced that the Company has received letter of acceptance from Indian Railways for supply of End of Train Telemetry device for initial trial. This device is an advanced solid-state telemetric safety product and is interfaced with existing Air Brake System, for which the Company is a prime supplier. This system not only improves the brake system integrity but has a number other added advantages - viz continuous brake system performance monitoring & data logging, brake application at the end of the train by the train driver, remote GPS / GSM communication, train parting information etc. In addition the system can replace the brake van at the end of the train with a wagon, thereby generating additional revenue for Railways.

If found successful Indian Railways plan to install such a system in all the goods train over a period of time. This is one of the major future products of the newly formed Railway Electronics division of the Company.
