Opencast vs. Underground: Opencast mines contributed 2.40 MT (+3.3% YoY) in July, while underground mining output rose 12.5% YoY to 0.05 MT. Underground output remains positive YTD at 0.21 MT (+4.5% YoY).

3. Washed Coal, Overburden Removal & Offtake

Washed Coking Coal: Surged 37.2% YoY in July to 0.14 MT (vs. 0.10 MT), with cumulative FY27 YTD output rising 9.0% YoY to 0.56 MT.

Overburden Removal (OBR): Expanded 3.1% YoY in July to 10.46 Million CuM, though progressive OBR remains down -27.2% YoY at 43.41 Million CuM.

Raw Coal Offtake: Dispatches reached 2.83 MT in July (+10.9% YoY), outpacing monthly production (2.45 MT) and reflecting steady stock liquidation to meet steel and thermal demand. YTD dispatches stand at 10.58 MT (-8.2% YoY).
