Hindustan Motors Updates on trade union strike in Uttarpara Plant

Hindustan Motors Ltd has announced that one of the five registered trade unions chose to go on a wildcat strike and disrupted normal operations at the Company's Uttarpara Plant on the March 12, 2007.

As of this morning, large section of the work force returned to work and operations have resumed at the plant. The Company expect that over the next few shifts, full normalcy would be restored.

However, picketing & sloganeering by a section / faction continues. Law and Order is being maintained in and around the plant with the help of Civil Administration and relevant authorities. The Company is hopeful that good sense shall prevail and this section / faction too would join the mainstream, soon.
