Hamish Bennett demolishes Kenya

New Zealand Fast Bowler Hamish Bennett demolished minnows Kenya with his 4 wickets. Bennett's accuracy and wicket to wicket bowling bundled Kenya for their lowest World Cup total of 69 runs. The second world cup match was played at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, Chennai.

New Zealand bowlers Bennett (4-16), Oram (3-2) and Southee (3-13) bowled out Kenya in just 23.5 overs. S R Waters and RR Patel were the highest scorer for Kenya with 16 runs. Kenya began their innings slowly after winning the toss and electing to bat first. New Zealand's disciplined bowling didn't give any room for the Kenyans to score.

In reply, New Zealand openers scored the runs in just 8 overs with both Guptill and McCullum dispatching Kenyan bowlers across the ground. Guptill was Not Out on 39 from just 32 balls with 5 boundaries (4s) and 2 Sixes (6s) and McCullum scored 26 runs from just 17 balls with 4 boundaries (4s).

New Zealand won the match by 10 wickets with 252 balls remaining. Hamish Bennett was adjudged as Player of the Match for his excellent bowling.
