Dharmesh Mehta, Managing Director & CEO of DAM Capital Advisors Limited, stated: "Q1 FY27 continued to be shaped by a challenging external environment. The ongoing wars in West Asia and Russia-Ukraine coupled with a sharp spike in crude oil prices and record weak levels for the rupee, created a cautious investor mood through most part of the quarter. FPI outflows added to this pressure. In response to subdued market conditions and valuation considerations, across the industry several fund raising transactions were deferred as issuers adopted a wait and watch approach.
We saw a gradual return in IPO market activity towards the end of Q1, alongside renewed investor interest in some of our deals. We expect this recovery to continue through Q2 and Q3 as some of the macro uncertainties begin to ease and market sentiment normalises. Capital markets are inherently cyclical by nature. We continue to believe that our business is best assessed across cycles rather than quarter on quarter. Our conviction in India's structural growth story remains intact. With a healthy pipeline and improving market activity, we are well positioned to capture opportunities as sentiment strengthens."
