Insecticides (India) Reports Q1 FY27 Revenue of ₹612 Crore Amid Monsoon Delays, Expands Gross Margins by 240 bps

Insecticides (India) Limited (IIL), a leading fully integrated crop protection and nutrition company in India, has announced its unaudited financial results for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026 (Q1 FY27). The company recorded steady gross margin expansion driven by disciplined pricing strategies, despite topline pressures caused by erratic rainfall patterns across key agricultural belts.

Financial Performance Overview

For Q1 FY27, Insecticides (India) reported revenue from operations of ₹612 crore, reflecting a 12% year-on-year decline compared to ₹691 crore in Q1 FY26. The revenue drop was primarily attributable to a deficit in early monsoon rainfall across several farming regions in India.

Key profitability metrics for the quarter include:

Gross Profit: Stood at ₹193 crore compared to ₹202 crore in Q1 FY26.

Gross Profit Margin: Expanded by 240 basis points year-on-year to 31.6%, up from 29.2% in Q1 FY26, supported by disciplined pricing actions.

EBITDA: Recorded at ₹68 crore, down 20% year-on-year from ₹85 crore in Q1 FY26.

EBITDA Margin: Came in at 11.1%, compared to 12.2% in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.

Profit After Tax (PAT): Stood at ₹44 crore, down 24% year-on-year from ₹58 crore in Q1 FY26.

Product Launches and Growth Drivers

During the quarter, Insecticides (India) advanced its product portfolio through new strategic introductions and distribution expansion:

Corteva Agriscience Collaboration: Executed a pan-India rollout of GRANUVIA, a next-generation insecticide introduced in partnership with Corteva Agriscience. The launch was backed by engagement campaigns involving distributors, retail dealers, and farming communities. As part of the same partnership, the company also launched Spinoace during Q1.

KAEROS Expansion: The company's KAEROS brand maintained its growth trajectory by expanding both its product lineup and retail distribution network.

Farmer Outreach and Extension Plans

To bolster field adoption and demonstrate product return on investment (ROI), Insecticides (India) executed widespread farmer engagement activities in Q1 FY27:

On-Field Engagement: Completed over 3,600 farmer meetings, 600 field days, 1,400 crop demonstrations, and 15,000 farmer visits.

ICS Plot Scaling: Building on positive field responses, the company announced plans to double the number of IIL Crop Solutions (ICS) trial plots from the current 36 plots to 72. The initiative covers four core crops-rice, cotton, chilli, and soybean-across 14 states.

Commenting on the results and performance, Mr. Rajesh Kumar Aggarwal, MD of Insecticides (India) Ltd. said: We delivered a resilient performance during the quarter despite a subdued demand, supported by our diversified product portfolio, presence across key crops, strong execution capabilities, and clear strategic direction.
