Asirvad Microfinance's return to profitability during the quarter under consideration has also immensely helped. In fact, gold loans played a crucial role in supporting overall bank credit growth in the country. Despite funding challenges, we have been successful in riding this wave and keeping the growth momentum intact."

"Volatility in gold prices was a serious concern that affected overall business sentiment. However, Manappuram Finance also delivered remarkable growth during the quarter under consideration, driven by operational efficiency, cost reduction, digitalisation and expansion into newer markets. Apart from our core business, all the subsidiary units/businesses, including Asirvad Microfinance, are in good financial health at present, and we expect them to perform better as the overall business environment improves in the near to medium term," Mr Nandakumar added.
