Kalpataru Projects International Reports Record Q1 FY27 Results: PAT Surges 46% to ₹312 Crore

Kalpataru Projects International Limited (KPIL), a leading global infrastructure EPC company with operations spanning 75 countries, has announced its financial results for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026 (Q1 FY27). Driven by disciplined operational execution, expanding margins, and strong ordering momentum, the company delivered its highest-ever Q1 performance across revenue, operational profitability, and order backlog.

Consolidated Financial Highlights

KPIL recorded a 4% year-on-year increase in consolidated revenue for Q1 FY27, reaching ₹6,408 crore. Excluding the impact of Road SPVs and the Brazil business, comparable revenue growth stood at 9% year-on-year.

Profitability metrics expanded significantly during the quarter:

EBITDA: Grew 7% year-on-year to ₹562 crore, with EBITDA margin expanding by 30 basis points to 8.8%.

Profit Before Tax (PBT): Rose 45% year-on-year to ₹420 crore, with PBT margin expanding by 190 basis points to 6.6%.

Profit After Tax (PAT): Surged 46% year-on-year to ₹312 crore.

The company achieved substantial deleveraging during the period. Consolidated net debt fell by 67% year-on-year to ₹917 crore as of June 30, 2026. Net Working Capital (NWC) cycle improved by 11 days year-on-year, standing at 80 days.

Standalone Performance Overview

On a standalone basis, KPIL reported revenue growth of 9% year-on-year to ₹5,482 crore for Q1 FY27, driven primarily by strong performance across its Transmission & Distribution (T&D), Buildings & Factories (B&F), Oil & Gas, and Urban Infrastructure business verticals.

Standalone financial performance details include:

EBITDA: Increased 14% year-on-year to ₹488 crore, with EBITDA margin expanding by 40 basis points to ~9%.

PBT: Advanced 32% year-on-year to ₹361 crore, with PBT margin improving by 120 basis points to 6.6%.

PAT: Rose 32% year-on-year to ₹265 crore.

Net Debt: Stood at ₹752 crore as of June 30, 2026, compared to ₹749 crore as of March 31, 2026.

Record Order Book and New Inflows

KPIL achieved an all-time high order book of ₹66,607 crore as of June 30, 2026, supported by key project wins across T&D, B&F, and Water segments.

Ordering highlights for the fiscal year include:

Year-to-Date (YTD) Inflows: Order intake for FY27 stands at ₹7,668 crore, which includes new orders worth ₹876 crore received in Q2 FY27 across domestic T&D and Oil & Gas sectors.

L1 Position: The company is favorably placed (L1) in additional orders worth ~₹7,300 crore, predominantly led by T&D and B&F business verticals.

Total Order Momentum: Cumulative YTD inflows including L1 positions stand at ~₹15,000 crore.

Corporate Profile, ESG, and Rating Upgrades

During the quarter, India Ratings & Research (Ind-Ra) upgraded KPIL's credit rating to IND AA+/Stable, citing the company's strengthened financial profile, resilient business model, and prudent capital structure. Furthermore, CRISIL upgraded KPIL's ESG rating to 'Strong' from 'Adequate', awarding a CRISIL Core ESG Rating of 65.

Commenting on the quarterly results, Manish Mohnot, Managing Director & CEO of KPIL, stated that Q1 FY27 represented a strong start to the financial year. He noted that integrated offerings across specialized areas such as HVDC transmission, GIS substations, international water projects, and design-build B&F structures helped secure marquee contracts, positioning the firm well to maximize long-term shareholder value.

Shares of Kalpataru Projects International Limited was last trading in BSE at Rs. 1347.75 as compared to the previous close of Rs. 1316.90. The total number of shares traded during the day was 15985 in over 1366 trades.
