NSDL Reports Strong Q1 FY27 Financial Results as Consolidated Income Surges 61.6% YoY to ₹560.5 Crore

National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL), one of the largest depositories in the world, has released its unaudited standalone and consolidated financial results for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026 (Q1 FY27). The company demonstrated robust operational expansion across its core depository network and subsidiaries, delivering strong top-line and bottom-line growth.

Consolidated Financial Performance

On a consolidated basis, NSDL achieved a total income of ₹560.5 crore for Q1 FY27, representing an impressive 61.6% year-on-year increase compared to ₹346.8 crore in Q1 FY26. On a sequential basis, total income expanded 15.1% over the ₹486.8 crore recorded in Q4 FY26.

Consolidated Net Profit After Tax (PAT) reached ₹98.3 crore during the quarter, registering a 9.7% year-on-year growth against ₹89.6 crore reported in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year. Sequentially, net profit rose by 8.8% from ₹90.3 crore in Q4 FY26.

Standalone Financial Performance

On a standalone level, NSDL reported a total income of ₹219.7 crore for Q1 FY27. This represents a 15.3% year-on-year growth compared to ₹190.4 crore in Q1 FY26, and a sequential increase of 12.4% over ₹195.4 crore in Q4 FY26.

Standalone Net Profit After Tax (PAT) stood at ₹89.1 crore for the quarter, up 7.9% year-on-year from ₹82.6 crore in Q1 FY26. Sequentially, standalone net profit improved by 11.9% compared to ₹79.7 crore recorded in Q4 FY26.

Core Business Operations & Network Footprint

NSDL maintained its market leadership across key depository metrics as of June 30, 2026:

Depository Participant Reach: NSDL's footprint expanded to 317 Depository Participants supported by a vast network of 57,768 service centres nationwide.

Beneficiary Owner Accounts: Net Beneficiary Owner (BO) market share grew to 17.6% in Q1 FY27 from 15.5% in Q1 FY26, bringing total BO accounts to 4.56 crore. The company added 12.4 lakh net accounts (14.7 lakh gross accounts) during the quarter.

Custody & Demat Value: NSDL held a market share of 85.8% by total Demat Custody Value, with individual and HUF holdings accounting for a 66.8% market share.

Unlisted Equity & Issuer Base: The depository captured a 71.3% market share in the unlisted equity segment in Q1 FY27, admitting 3,406 companies during the quarter. The total issuer base across the NSDL ecosystem crossed 1,15,000 issuers.

Subsidiaries Overview

NSDL Payments Bank

NSDL Payments Bank Limited continued its strong expansion across digital banking ecosystems. The bank is currently ranked among the top 34 banks on the UPI remitter bank framework and holds the 6th position as a Payee PSP app among the top 15 ecosystem banks. Current Account and Savings Account (CASA) customers grew 1.7 times year-on-year to 49.5 lakh in Q1 FY27, up from 28.3 lakh in Q1 FY26.

NSDL Database Management

In compliance with guidance from the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI), NSDL Database Management Limited is in the process of transferring its insurance repository business from the existing strategic business unit to a dedicated separate subsidiary. The corporate transition is expected to be completed by December 2026.
