Bajaj Finance Reports Strong Q1 FY27 Performance with Consolidated Net Profit Surpassing ₹6,080 Crore

Bajaj Finance Limited (BFL) has announced its unaudited standalone and consolidated financial results for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026. The non-banking financial company (NBFC) demonstrated robust operational and financial growth across its core verticals, driven by strong customer acquisition and expanding assets under management.

Consolidated Financial Performance

On a consolidated basis, Bajaj Finance posted a 28% year-on-year increase in Net Profit After Tax (PAT), reaching ₹6,080.60 crore for Q1 FY27 compared to ₹4,765.29 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year. Profit before tax (PBT) also saw a matching 28% rise, climbing to ₹8,149.00 crore from ₹6,367.58 crore in Q1 FY26.

Total consolidated income for the quarter rose to ₹23,166.42 crore, up from ₹19,376.43 crore in Q1 FY26. Revenue from operations was anchored by interest income, which expanded to ₹20,512.73 crore against ₹17,144.65 crore reported a year ago. Net Interest Income (NII) registered a 23% jump to ₹12,571 crore, compared to ₹10,228 crore in Q1 FY26, while Net Total Income increased by 22% to ₹15,224 crore.

Pre-provisioning operating profit (PPOP) grew 22% year-on-year to ₹10,137 crore. Operating expenses to net total income stood at 33.4% for Q1 FY27, compared to 33.1% in Q1 FY26.

Balance Sheet Growth & Operational Metrics

Assets Under Management (AUM): Consolidated AUM grew 24% to reach ₹546,944 crore as of June 30, 2026, up from ₹441,450 crore as of June 30, 2025. The company added ₹36,969 crore to its AUM during the single quarter.

Customer Franchise: The total customer base expanded by 17% year-on-year to 124.43 million as of June 30, 2026, supported by an addition of 5.10 million new customers during the quarter.

New Loans Booked: The number of new loans disbursed grew by 20% to 16.13 million in Q1 FY27 from 13.49 million in Q1 FY26.

Return Metrics: Annualized Return on Assets (ROA) improved to 4.7% (up from 4.5% in Q1 FY26), while annualized Return on Equity (ROE) expanded to 20.4% (up from 19.0% in Q1 FY26).

Asset Quality and Capital Adequacy

Bajaj Finance maintained steady asset quality profiles across its portfolios:

Gross & Net NPA: Gross NPA improved to 0.96% as of June 30, 2026, compared to 1.03% as of June 30, 2025. Net NPA declined to 0.39% from 0.50% over the same period. The provision coverage ratio on Stage 3 assets was reported at 60%.

Loan Losses & Provisions: Loan losses and provisions for Q1 FY27 stood at ₹1,993 crore compared to ₹1,969 crore in Q1 FY26. The Q1 FY27 figures include prudent management and macroeconomic provisions of ₹296 crore. Excluding these discretionary provisions, impairment charges declined 14% to ₹1,697 crore.

Capital Position: Capital Adequacy Ratio (CRAR) stood at 20.90% as of June 30, 2026, with Tier-I capital accounting for 20.01%.

Performance of Key Subsidiaries

Bajaj Housing Finance Limited (BHFL)

BHFL recorded a 24% growth in AUM, reaching ₹149,624 crore as of June 30, 2026, compared to ₹120,420 crore in Q1 FY26. Net Profit After Tax for the subsidiary grew by 23% to ₹715 crore against ₹583 crore in Q1 FY26. Gross NPA and Net NPA for BHFL stood at 0.29% and 0.12%, respectively, with a Capital Adequacy Ratio of 21.59%.

Bajaj Financial Securities Limited (BFinsec)

BFinsec acquired approximately 108,000 customers in Q1 FY27, pushing its overall customer franchise to roughly 1.486 million. Assets Under Finance surged 60% to ₹9,770 crore compared to ₹6,098 crore as of June 30, 2025. PAT for the quarter grew 22% to ₹50 crore from ₹41 crore in the year-ago period.

Standalone Results Summary

On a standalone basis, Bajaj Finance Limited reported a total income of ₹19,803.10 crore for Q1 FY27 compared to ₹16,548.67 crore in Q1 FY26. Net Profit After Tax for the standalone entity increased by 29% to ₹5,345.52 crore from ₹4,133.08 crore in Q1 FY25. Standalone AUM reached ₹400,388 crore, reflecting a 23% year-on-year growth. Standalone Gross NPA stood at 1.20%, and Net NPA came in at 0.49%.
