Dalmia Bharat Posts Q1 FY27 Revenue of ₹3,890 Crore; Cement Capacity Reaches 54.7 MnTPA Following Central Region Acquisitions

Leading Indian cement manufacturer Dalmia Bharat Limited (BSE: 542216, NSE: DALBHARAT) announced its unaudited consolidated financial results for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026 (Q1 FY27), delivering steady top-line growth driven by higher sales volumes and strategic asset expansion.

Operational Scale-Up and Financial Highlights

The company reported a 7% year-on-year (YoY) increase in revenue from operations, reaching ₹3,890 crore in Q1 FY27 compared to ₹3,636 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year. Total income for the quarter stood at ₹4,029 crore, supported by an other income contribution of ₹139 crore.

Sales volume expanded 9% YoY to 7.6 million tonnes (MnT), up from 7.0 MnT recorded in Q1 FY26. EBITDA for the quarter stood at ₹805 crore, while EBITDA per ton improved sequentially to ₹1,055.

Profit Before Tax (PBT) prior to exceptional items came in at ₹436 crore, compared to ₹502 crore in Q1 FY26. The company accounted for an exceptional item of ₹182 crore during the quarter, primarily reflecting acquisition-related transaction costs. Profit After Tax (PAT) for the period was reported at ₹192 crore, with profit attributable to the owners of the parent standing at ₹188 crore. Basic and diluted earnings per share (EPS) from continuing operations for the quarter stood at ₹10.02 (face value of ₹2/- per share).

Cost Structure Overview

Total expenses for Q1 FY27 amounted to ₹3,593 crore, compared to ₹3,183 crore in Q1 FY26. Key cost components for the quarter included:

Raw Materials: Cost of raw materials consumed was ₹644 crore.

Power and Fuel: Expenditure on power and fuel stood at ₹851 crore.

Freight and Logistics: Freight charges on finished goods were ₹733 crore, alongside internal clinker transfer freight costs of ₹128 crore.

Employee Expenses: Employee benefits expense totaled ₹245 crore.

Depreciation & Finance Costs: Depreciation and amortisation stood at ₹361 crore, while finance costs were ₹147 crore.

Other Expenses: Other operational expenses totaled ₹632 crore.

Strategic Asset Integration and Expansion

Dalmia Bharat completed the landmark acquisition of Jaiprakash Associates' cement undertaking at an Enterprise Value (EV) of ₹2,850 crore. The transaction adds 5.2 MnTPA of cement capacity and 3.3 MnTPA of clinker capacity spread across four strategically positioned units in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. With this integration, Dalmia Bharat's total installed cement capacity has risen to 54.7 MnTPA.

Operational milestones achieved during the quarter include:

Chunar Grinding Unit: Successfully commenced commercial production at the 2.5 MnTPA unit on June 20, 2026.

Rewa Clinker Unit: Initiated trial runs at the 3.3 MnTPA unit in July 2026.

Clean Energy Commitments and Corporate Recognitions

In line with its sustainability goals, Dalmia Bharat executed a Share Subscription and Shareholders' Agreement alongside a Power Consumption Agreement to acquire a 41% stake (26% on a fully-diluted basis) in Oyster Green Hybrid Five Private Limited, an SPV of Oyster Renewable Energy Private Limited. The transaction, valued at approximately ₹17 crore, will be completed in one or more tranches to supply hybrid wind and solar power as a captive consumer to the company's Kadapa manufacturing plant.

During the quarter, the company earned several national accolades:

CII-ITC Sustainability Award: Recognized for "Significant Achievement" in Corporate Social Responsibility within the manufacturing sector.

FAME India Awards 2026: Multiple units (including JCW, KCW, GCW, and Umrangso) received recognition for excellence across health, safety, environmental stewardship, and CSR.

Kalinga Environment Excellence Award: Conferred the 5-Star award to the Rajgangpur unit for environmental stewardship and operational excellence, along with the Gold category award to the KCW unit for sustainable community development.

Mr. Dharmender Tuteja, Chief Financial Officer - Dalmia Bharat Limited, said "Despite temporary disruptions owing to state elections, we delivered a robust volume growth of 9% on a YoY basis. Supported by healthy price increases and focused initiatives across the business, we were able to offset the cost escalation meaningfully and deliver a robust EBITDA of Rs 1,055 per ton." He further added, "Our leverage remains modest despite the acquisition, underscoring our commitment to prudent and disciplined capital allocation. While the nearterm cost headwinds persist, our unwavering focus on operational excellence and disciplined execution will position us well to continue delivering profitable and sustainable growth."

Shares of Dalmia Bharat Limited was last trading in BSE at Rs. 1855.30 as compared to the previous close of Rs. 1864.85. The total number of shares traded during the day was 11688 in over 1485 trades.

The stock hit an intraday high of Rs. 1887.55 and intraday low of 1845.15. The net turnover during the day was Rs. 21864592.00.
