Global pharmaceutical leader Cipla Limited today announced its unaudited consolidated financial results for the first quarter of Financial Year 2026-2027 (Q1 FY27) ended June 30, 2026.
The company registered a strong sequential recovery in both operational revenue and profitability, driven by core product sales, despite a high base comparison year-on-year.
Key Financial Highlights
Total Revenue from Operations: Stood at ₹7,119.28 crore, representing an 8.84% sequential growth compared to ₹6,541.20 crore reported in Q4 FY26. Total operations revenue was ₹6,957.47 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year (Q1 FY26).
Revenue from Sale of Products: Formed the core top-line driver at ₹7,077.02 crore, up from ₹6,464.26 crore in the preceding quarter. Other operating revenue contributed ₹42.26 crore.
Total Income: Recorded at ₹7,330.18 crore for Q1 FY27, including ₹210.90 crore from other income, compared to ₹6,689.36 crore in Q4 FY26.
Profit Before Tax (PBT): Came in at ₹1,081.93 crore, registering a sequential jump of 53.02% over ₹707.06 crore in the previous quarter.
Net Profit After Tax (PAT): Consolidated net profit for the period reached ₹7,85.55 crore, posting a 44.80% QoQ surge against ₹542.51 crore in Q4 FY26.
Net Profit Attributable to Owners: Stood at ₹7,89.05 crore, up from ₹554.64 crore in Q4 FY26.
Earnings Per Share (EPS): Basic EPS for the quarter was ₹9.77 (not annualised), compared to ₹6.87 in Q4 FY26 and ₹16.07 in Q1 FY26. Diluted EPS stood at ₹9.76.
Expense Breakdown and Operations
Total expenses for Q1 FY27 were reported at ₹6,248.25 crore, compared to ₹5,982.30 crore in the preceding quarter and ₹5,446.10 crore in Q1 FY26.
Cost of Materials Consumed: Stood at ₹1,356.93 crore, marginally lower than ₹1,382.15 crore in Q4 FY26.
Purchases of Stock-in-Trade: Amounted to ₹1,251.70 crore.
Employee Benefits Expense: Increased to ₹1,497.41 crore, compared to ₹1,414.25 crore in the prior quarter.
Depreciation, Impairment & Amortisation: Reduced sequentially to ₹304.24 crore from ₹382.92 crore in Q4 FY26.
Finance Costs: Remained controlled at ₹17.03 crore.
Other Expenses: Totaled ₹1,762.39 crore during the quarter.
Tax Expense & Comprehensive Income:
Total net tax expense for the quarter stood at ₹294.83 crore (comprising current tax of ₹392.78 crore and a deferred tax credit of ₹97.95 crore).
Total Comprehensive Income for Q1 FY27 reached ₹9,79.61 crore, boosted by positive other comprehensive income of ₹194.06 crore.
Capital and Reserves
As of June 30, 2026, Cipla's paid-up equity share capital stood at ₹161.57 crore (comprising equity shares with a face value of ₹2/- each). Other equity for the company as per audited figures stood at ₹34,270.39 crore.
