Ashok Leyland Reports 25% Increase in June 2026 Sales, Driven by Strong Truck and LCV Demand

Commercial vehicle manufacturer Ashok Leyland Limited has reported strong double-digit growth in its sales performance for June 2026 and the cumulative first quarter of the financial year 2026-27.

Robust Volume Growth in June 2026

Ashok Leyland recorded total global sales (Domestic + Exports) of 19,194 units in June 2026, registering a significant 25% increase over the 15,333 units sold in June 2025. Total domestic dispatches closely mirrored this trajectory, climbing 26% to reach 17,912 units compared to 14,184 units in the corresponding month last year.

Medium & Heavy Commercial Vehicles (M&HCV)

The core M&HCV segment registered total global sales of 12,156 units, growing by 24% from 9,829 units in June 2025.

M&HCV Trucks: This segment served as a key volume engine, posting an impressive 44% growth globally with 9,616 units sold against 6,657 units last year. On the domestic front, M&HCV truck sales similarly expanded by 44% to 9,458 units.

M&HCV Buses: The bus segment experienced an off-month, with total global volumes contracting 20% to 2,540 units from 3,172 units. Domestic bus dispatches dropped 28% to settle at 1,673 units.

Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV)

The LCV vertical maintained high momentum throughout the month. Total global LCV sales grew by 28% to reach 7,038 units compared to 5,504 units in the previous June. Domestic LCV dispatches achieved an identical 28% growth rate, closing the month at 6,781 units against 5,315 units in June 2025.

Cumulative First Quarter Financial Trends

The cumulative performance for the first quarter (April to June 2026) reflects a solid double-digit operational expansion. Total consolidated global sales for the quarter climbed 10% to hit 48,763 units, compared to 44,238 units in the first quarter of the previous fiscal year. Total domestic volumes for the same three-month period grew 12% to 46,302 units.

First-Quarter Segment Highlights

Cumulative M&HCV: Total global M&HCV sales for the quarter reached 29,424 units, marking a 5% increase over the 28,071 units recorded last year. This was anchored by a 18% surge in international truck dispatches (23,954 units) which offset a 29% reduction in total quarterly bus dispatches (5,470 units).

Cumulative LCV: Year-to-date global volumes for light commercial vehicles climbed 20% to reach 19,339 units, expanding robustly on the 16,167 units managed by the same point in the previous fiscal year. Domestic Q1 LCV sales contributed 18,874 units to this total, up 21% year-on-year.

Shares of Ashok Leyland Limited was last trading in BSE at Rs. 157.70 as compared to the previous close of Rs. 157.40. The total number of shares traded during the day was 1072945 in over 17058 trades.

The stock hit an intraday high of Rs. 159.80 and intraday low of 155.80. The net turnover during the day was Rs. 169470743.00.
