The contract, valued at approximately Rs. 81.98 Crore, was awarded to the NCDC-Brahmaputra Joint Venture (JV).
The formal notification, issued on May 13, 2026, details a comprehensive construction mandate linked to the Lumding-Furkating Doubling Project, a vital initiative under the Indian Railways.
Scope of the National Importance Project
The contract encompasses a diverse range of civil and electrical works aimed at enhancing railway infrastructure and staff facilities. Key deliverables of the project include:
Residential Units: Construction of various staff quarters, including 128 Type-II units, 50 Type-III units, and 18 Type-IV units.
Water & Utility Infrastructure: Installation of a Pump House, Overhead Tank (OHT), and a Deep Tube Well equipped with an Iron Removal Plant (IRP).
Ancillary Developments: Construction of essential drains and roads.
Electrification: Full electrification works necessary for the operational readiness of the new facilities.
Execution Timeline and Financial Impact
The total value of the contract is precisely Rs. 81,98,23,592.86. As per the terms of the LOA dated May 12, 2026, the Joint Venture is expected to commence work within 15 days. The project is slated for completion within a 18-month duration.
Brahmaputra Infrastructure has stated that this domestic, one-time order is expected to contribute positively to the company's revenue streams. The project falls under the jurisdiction of the Construction Headquarters of North Frontier Railway in Maligaon, Guwahati.
