HPCL Ensures LPG Supply Continuity, Enforces Zero-Tolerance Discipline Across Network

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) today reaffirmed its commitment to operational excellence and safety by emphasizing strict discipline across its Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) distribution network. The initiative underscores HPCL's ongoing efforts to enhance reliability, efficiency, and customer satisfaction while maintaining the highest safety standards.

Between 1st and 12th April 2026, HPCL recorded petrol sales of 4,60,508 KL and diesel sales of 8,34,126 KL, indicating strong mobility demand across regions. To meet this surge, the Company activated its extensive logistics network, dispatching 80,529 tankers and facilitating the movement of over 12 lakh KL of fuel, ensuring uninterrupted supplies across its retail footprint.

This operational scale reflects HPCL's ability to deliver with speed, coordination, and resilience, even during periods of heightened demand in key markets.

In the LPG segment, HPCL supplied 154.2 lakh cylinders during the same period, ensuring consistent availability for households nationwide. The Company also enhanced last-mile access by distributing 3.32 lakh 5 Kg Free Trade LPG cylinders and 0.21 lakh 2 Kg cylinders, catering to the needs of migrant populations and underserved communities.

HPCL's operations continue to be driven by advanced digital integration. With 99.5% of LPG bookings conducted through digital channels-including IVRS, SMS, WhatsApp, and HP PAY-the Company has significantly improved convenience, efficiency, and transparency. Deliveries are further ensured through DAC/OTP-based authentication, ensuring a reliable and tamper-proof customer experience.

Complementing its supply efforts, HPCL has strengthened its vigilance framework to safeguard consumer interests and uphold system integrity. Between 14th March and 12th April 2026, the Company carried out 4,897 inspections, initiated action against 110 distributors, and suspended 30 distributorships. In collaboration with other Oil Marketing Companies and State authorities, 660 raids were conducted, resulting in 41 FIRs and the seizure of 3,674 LPG cylinders.

This dual focus on scale and scrutiny underscores HPCL's zero-tolerance approach to malpractices, particularly during periods of heightened demand.

HPCL's disciplined approach has led to improved turnaround times, reduced operational discrepancies, and enhanced customer trust. The initiative aligns with the organization's broader vision of sustainable growth and responsible energy delivery.

As one of India's leading energy companies, HPCL continues to innovate and invest in infrastructure to meet the evolving needs of consumers while prioritizing safety and environmental responsibility.

HPCL reiterated that fuel and LPG supplies remain stable and adequate across its network, and any temporary pressure in select locations is primarily driven by short-term demand spikes and precautionary buying behaviour, rather than any systemic supply disruption.

Consumers are advised to avoid panic-driven purchases and adhere to normal consumption patterns, while relying on official HPCL communication channels for accurate information.

With its ability to combine operational scale, digital innovation, and strong field-level enforcement, HPCL continues to ensure that India's energy needs are met seamlessly, reliably, and responsibly-even under peak demand conditions.
