Hon'ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, laid the foundation stone of a state-of-the-art LPG Bottling Plant with a Rail Unloading Facility at Hathua in Gopalganj District, Bihar, which underscores the government's commitment to enhancing energy security and promoting sustainable development in the region.
Project Highlights
The project, worth ₹340.15 Crore, is scheduled to be completed by March 31, 2027. The new LPG Bottling Plant will have a capacity of 180 Thousand Metric Tons Per Annum (TMTPA). The plant will be equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure, including a railway unloading siding for efficient LPG receipt and storage, Mounded Storage Vessels (MSV) for safe storage, and a 2x24 station electronic carousel for streamlined operations.
Benefits
This project will meet the enhancing demand of LPG in North-West Bihar and North Central Bihar.
This project is expected to generate estimated total employment for 1.2 lakh man-days during the construction stage. Upon completion, it will significantly enhance the quality of life for the local population by providing reliable and efficient LPG supply.
The project will also reduce carbon emissions associated with road transport, aligning with India's commitment to sustainable development. Additionally, the Vapour Recovery processes will further reduce carbon emissions. The expected annual reduction is approximately 11,000 MT Co2e GHG emissions equivalent to planting of 5 lakh trees.
Moreover, the plant will enhance energy security in the region by ensuring a reliable and uninterrupted supply of LPG, a crucial fuel for domestic and commercial use.
