Gateway Distriparks Limited, a leading multimodal logistics company in India, has launched a new container train service to Kandla Port, connecting all five of its Inland Container Depots (ICDs) located in Gurgaon, Faridabad, Ahmedabad, Ludhiana, and Kashipur to the Port. With this addition, Kandla becomes the fourth port in the Western region serviced by Gateway Distriparks, alongside Mundra, Pipavav, and Nhava Sheva ports. This strategic expansion strengthens the company's logistics network, offering enhanced services to customers across key industrial regions.
Mr. Prem Kishan Dass Gupta, Chairman & Managing Director - Gateway Distriparks, commented, "Expanding our services to Kandla Port marks a significant milestone for Gateway Distriparks. While we anticipate initial volumes to be modest, we expect substantial growth in the future. Importantly, this expansion requires no additional capital expenditure or new rake deployment. By utilising our existing fleet through efficient hub-and-spoke operations, we demonstrate the strength and flexibility of our network. This approach allows us to meet increasing demand without incurring extra costs, ultimately benefiting our customers and shareholders."
The new service features double-stack operations to Viramgam, Garhi, and Faridabad. Additionally, containers from Ludhiana and Kashipur will be double-stacked via the company's hubs, optimising efficiency and transit times.
