Tata Steel BSL Ltd achieves highest ever crude steel production of 1.20 mn tons in 2QFY22

Tata Steel BSL Limited has announced key production and delivery volumes (Provisional) for 2QFY22.

The company's production was at 1,195 thousand tons in 2QFY22 (Provisional) as compared to 1,171 thousand tons in 1QFY22 and 1,140 thousand tons in 2QFY21. The sales was at 1,108 thousand tons in 2QFY22 (Provisional) as against 1,119 thousand tons in 1QFY22 and 1,274 thousand tons in 2QFY21.

The production during the 6 months period ended September 30, 2021 (1HFY22) was at 2,366 thousand tons as against 1,799 thousand tons in 1HFY21. The sales was at Rs. 2,227 thousand tons in 1HFY22 as compared to 1,971 thousand tons in 1HFY21.Key Highlights:

- Tata Steel BSL achieved highest ever Crude Steel production of in 2QFY22, registering a growth of 2% QoQ and 5% YoY.

- 2QFY22 Steel sales volume was marginally lower on QoQ basis due to lower availability of Hot Rolled products with planned shutdown of Hot Strip Mill. Steel sales volume were lower by 13%YoY due to lower exports and stock liquidation focus in the previous year. The Company launched "Tata Steelium Super" which will enhance Company's presence in the retail segment.

- The Company has undertaken several vaccination drives at all of its operating locations. Currently, around 98% of its employees are vaccinated with first dose and 71% have been administered with second dose. The Company continues to closely monitor COVID-19 situation and take appropriate actions in line with the directions issued by the regulatory authorities keeping in view the health and safety of its employees and the community, and the interests of its customers and other stakeholders.
