Stone India enters into Railway Electronics business

Stone India Ltd has announced that the Company enters Railway Electronics business through introduction of a slew of high value Power Electronics Products for Indian Railways. The Company has signed an exclusive MOU with SMA Technologie AG, Germany to introduce Inverters, Converters and Power Supply System for Coaches, Locomotives, EMUs & Metros. The estimated unit value for these systems range from Rs 5.5 to Rs 235 Lakhs. SMA is a major supplier of such products for the world railways for major than a decade.

This will be major growth driver for the Company in the coming years. The Company plans to build a brand new facility for manufacturing these high value products through Technology Transfer Agreement with SMA.
