Reliance Energy Q4 profit after tax at Rs.2374.20 million, declares Rs.5.30 dividend

Reliance Energy Ltd has announced the Audited results for the quarter & year ended March 31, 2007. The results for the Quarter ended March 31, 2007: The Company has posted a profit after tax of Rs 2374.20 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2007 as compared to Rs 1694.70 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2006. Total Income has increased from Rs 12244.50 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2006 to Rs 18896.70 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2007.

The results for the Year ended March 31, 2007: The Company has posted a net profit after tax of Rs 8014.50 million for the year ended March 31, 2007 as compared to Rs 6503.40 million for the year ended March 31, 2006. Total Income has increased from Rs 46078.80 million for the year ended March 31, 2006 to Rs 65752.50 million for the year ended March 31, 2007.

The company has recommended a dividend of Rs 5.30 per share on Equity Shares for the year 2006-07. The Register of Members & Share Transfer Books of the Company will remain closed from June 30, 2007 to July 10, 2007 (both days inclusive) for the purpose of payment of Dividend for the year ended March 31, 2007 and Annual General Meeting of the Company to be held on July 10, 2007.

The stock closed the day at Rs.523.55, down by Rs.1.60 or 0.30%. The stock hit an intraday high of Rs.535 and low of Rs.520. The total traded quantity was 424990 compared to 2 week average of 133669.
