Maruti Udyog announces Q4 total income of Rs.46347.40 million

Maruti Udyog Ltd has announced the following results for the quarter & year ended March 31, 2007. The Unaudited results for the Quarter ended March 31, 2007: The Company has posted a net profit of Rs 4485.60 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2007 where as the same was at Rs 3609.20 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2006. Total Income is Rs 46347.40 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2007 where as the same was at Rs 33922.70 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2006.

The Audited results for the Year ended March 31, 2007: The Company has posted a net profit of Rs 15619.80 million for the year ended March 31, 2007 where as the same was at Rs 11890.50 million for the year ended March 31, 2006. Total Income is Rs 152523.00 million for the year ended March 31, 2007 where as the same was at Rs 124814.30 million for the year ended March 31, 2006.

The Audited consolidated results for the Year ended March 31, 2007: The Group has posted a net profit after tax & minority interest of Rs 15882.60 million for the year ended March 31, 2007 where as the same was at Rs 12191.20 million for the year ended March 31, 2006. Total Income is Rs 154894.00 million for the year ended March 31, 2007 where as the same was at Rs 126766.00 million for the year ended March 31, 2006.

The Company's wholly owned subsidiary, Maruti Suzuki Automobiles India Ltd (MSAIL) was amalgamated with the Company from the appointed date of April 01, 2006. Pursuant to the amalgamation, the profit before tax for the current period has been arrived at after deducting the loss erstwhile MSAIL for the period from April 01, 2006 to March 31, 2007, amounting to Rs 1131.50 million and for the period January 01, 2007 to March 31, 2007 Rs 585.40 million (corresponding period last year: Nil). Therefore, the results for the quarter and year ended March 31, 2007 are not comparable with those for the corresponding period of the previous period.
