IOL Broadband forays into e-Learning

IOL Broadband Ltd on April 12, 2007 has announced that it will launch its e-Learning initiative via Interactive broadband Services very shortly. As part of e-Learning initiative, the Company has signed an Exclusive Broadband Access Deal with ABAN Informatics Pvt Ltd, a Chennai based Company, part of the multimillion dollar ABAN Group.

The Company will deploy cutting edge e-Learning technology and revolutionize e-Learning in India by leveraging its broadband last mile connectivity that IOL enjoys all over the country. ABAN Informatics Pvt Ltd is only Company to offer curriculum specific web enabled content for CBSC and ICSE board.

Mr. Vijay Balakrishnan, VP e-Learning, of the Company said that "IOL Broadband's initiative and tie-up with ABAN Informatics promises to revolutionize e-Learning sector in India, allowing millions of students of our country to get instant Broadband Online access of high end 2D & 3D multimedia content of CBSE and ICSE Curriculum". He further added that the Government of India has promised full support and encouragement to the e-Learning initiatives in keeping with the HR Ministry's recent announcement to promote online education all over India.

It is estimated that over 300 million citizens of India are below 20 years age group and represent a huge opportunity for the Company's e-Learning initiative.

The Company has also partnered with some of the leading e-Learning content providers such as IL&FS ETS, Educational Initiatives, W3Varsity, Centre for excellence in Project Management, an REP of PMI-USA for the most sought after online programs in Project Management.
