Tata Power on CRISIL Rating watch with negative implications

Tata Power Company Ltd has announced that CRISIL Ltd has placed its rating on the Company's long-term debt on 'Rating Watch with Negative Implications.' The rating was previously on 'Rating Watch with Developing Implications.' CRISIL is in discussions with the Company's management to better understand the impact of the various ventures, after which CRISIL will take a final view on the ratings.

The rating is supported at the current level by the Company's presence in the stable licensee business which has regulated returns, and the Company's strong operating capabilities.
