Gulshan Sugars commences commercial production of GCC ahead of schedule

Gulshan Sugars & Chemicals Ltd has announced the commencement of commercial production of Ground Calcium Carbonate (GCC) from its new facilities set up at Muzaffarnagar (UP). The Company had recently come out with a follow on public issue of equity shares for the said subject.

Announcing the above Dr. C K Jain, Managing Director informed that the quality of the product from the new facilities have been very encouraging and well accepted by paper producers. The Company has got very good response for the product from the users in paper industry wherever it has supplied the trial production. The main consumers of GCC in paper industry are ITC Bhadrachalam, JK Paper, Century Paper, Magnum paper apart from many small players. The capacity of GCC is 20000 MT which is expected to be utilized in short time than expected. Originally the project was to commence the operations from April 2007. The project was partly funded by IDBI and public issue of equity shares. Dr. Jain, declared that due to delayed for few months. However, the requirement of present power would be made available from exiting power plant.
