Satyam to Launch Global Delivery Campus in Nanjing, China

Satyam Computer Services Ltd on February 08, 2007 has announced that it will launch a Global Delivery Campus (GDC) in Nanjing. The signing ceremony and the ground breaking ceremony for the construction of the campus was held today at Nanjing Software Park was signed between Mr. Rama Raju, CEO, of the Company and Mr. Shao Qiang the Standing Director of the Nanjing New & High Technology Development Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Nanjing Hitech Zone. With 2,500 seats, it will be the organization's largest development facility outside of India. The ceremony was attended by Senior leaders from the Jiangsu Province and Nanjing City including Mr. Li Yuanchao, the party secretary to the Jiangsu Province, Mr. Zhang Taolin, the vice governor of the Jiangsu Province, Mr. Xie Zhengyi, director of Information Technology Industry Bureau of Jiangsu Province and Mr. Jiang Hongkun, the mayor of Nanjing City.

It will also be the largest Company's campus in terms of space, and will include areas devoted to development and training, as well as a convention center. The state-of-the-art facility will be located in the Nanjing Software Park, and feature a broadband data communication system, and conveniences such as a restaurant, shopping mall, recreation and entertainment centers, and residential apartments.

The opening reinforces the Company’s presence in China; It also demonstrates the organization's long-term commitment to the country, as well as China's commitment to the Country, which received considerable support from Jiangsu Province end Nanjing city leaders.

The Company has been one of earliest entrants in the Chinese market with its first development centre being established in Shanghai in 2002 with only 10 associates. Satyam China today has grown exponentially with presence in Shanghai, Beijing, Dalian and Guangzhou. China has played a strategic role for the Company as a nearshore delivery center for its Asia Pacific customers and a de-risking option to North American and European client base. The current staff strength in China is more than 400, of which 97% are locals. The new campus will be operational within the next 12 months and expected to ramp up significantly.
