NTPC Q3 net profit after tax at Rs.21033 million, announces 24% interim dividend

National Thermal Power Corporation Ltd (NTPC) has announced the following Unaudited results for the quarter ended December 31, 2006:

The Company has posted a net profit after tax of Rs 21033 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2006 as compared to Rs 17817 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2005. Total Income (Net of Electricity Duty) has increased from Rs 76699 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2005 to Rs 89220 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2006.

Further the Company has informed that, the Board has decided to pay interim dividend at the rate of 24% (Rs 2.40/- per share) on the face value of paid-up equity shares of Rs 10/- each for the financial year 2006-07.
