Tech Mahindra Ltd has announced their participation in Microsoft's Connected Services Sandbox, a new program that brings together systems integrators (SIs), independent software vendors (ISVs), developers, network equipment providers, and telecommunications service providers in a collaborative environment to develop and test new communications services.
On this occasion, Mr. C P Gurnani, President International Operations, of the Company said, "Tech Mahindra is proud to be a launch partner for the Connected Services Sandbox. Tech Mahindra is constantly helping telecommunications operators look for new and innovative ways to leverage existing infrastructure, as well as introduce new services, without increasing their capital expenditures. In addition, Microsoft Connected Services Framework, one of the core products within the Sandbox, gives operators the power to combine their current offerings with complex services to deliver new services. The Sandbox provides operators, ISVs and SIs the opportunity to collaborate and develop mash-ups that can be tested as the next big offering for the telecom world."
About the Connected Services Sandbox
The Connected Services Sandbox program was launched by Microsoft Corporation at ITU Telecom World in December 2006. The goal of the Sandbox is to encourage the development and deployment of new service offerings, creating new opportunities for Sandbox participants, and delivering new options for consumers and businesses.
The Sandbox will initially offer a number of Microsoft products and solutions for participants to utilize, such as Microsoft Connected Services Framework, Microsoft Solution for Hosted Messaging and Collaboration, and Microsoft MapPoint. In addition, participants will have access to a number of services, including device virtualization, network abstraction, order handling, billing, customer care, and unlimited third party Web services, such as weather, traffic, hotel reservations, news, stocks and combinations of these services that can be integrated.
The Company's role in the Connected Services Sandbox
The Company is one of the launch partners for the Connected Services Sandbox.
With its detailed knowledge of Microsoft solutions, including Connected Services Framework, the Company is uniquely positioned to generate ideas in the Sandbox, which can then be evaluated by the various telecommunications operators participating in the environment.
The Company's strong customer base in the telecommunications vertical will also benefit from the ideas and solutions showcased in the Sandbox. Apart from idea / solution design in the Connected Services Sandbox environment, the Company will also have the opportunity to build and deploy these services for the telecommunications operators interested in the commercialization of these services. Solutions can also be offered as "Managed Services" by the Company.
Connected Services Sandbox Competitions
Microsoft is launching a series of design and development competitions to identify innovative services that can be taken to market. As a member in the Sandbox, the Company will have the opportunity to participate in the competitions, with the goal of creating new compelling services.
