Alok Industries to setup textile SEZ at Silvassa, Q3 profit after tax at Rs.37.06 Crores

Alok Industries Ltd has announced the following Unaudited results for the quarter ended December 31, 2006:

The Company has posted a profit after tax of Rs 370.60 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2006 as compared to Rs 294.90 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2005. Total Income has increased from Rs 3636.30 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2005 to Rs 4831.50 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2006.

The Company has approved the setting up of a textile SEZ at Silvassa through a wholly owned subsidiary. The in principle approval from the Government of India for the SEZ being in place, 132 acres of land for this purpose has been acquired till date.
