SAIL announces Q3 results, 16% interim dividend

Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) has announced the following Unaudited results for the quarter ended December 31, 2006:

The Company has posted a net profit after tax of Rs 14711.90 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2006 as compared to Rs 6560.70 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2005. Total Income (net of excise) has increased from Rs 67368.40 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2005 to Rs 87601.60 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2006.

Further the Company has informed that, the Board of Directors has approved interim dividend @ 16% of the paid-up equity share capital for the financial year 2006-07.
