Finolex Cables Q3 net profit up nearly 50% at Rs.161 million

Finolex Cables Ltd has announced the following Unaudited results for the quarter ended December 31, 2006:

The Company has posted a net profit of Rs 161.00 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2006 where as the same was at Rs 107.90 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2005. Total Income (net of excise) is Rs 2544.50 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2006 where as the same was at Rs 2155.70 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2005.

The sales figure for the quarter ended December 31, 2006 is not strictly comparable with the one for the quarter ended December 31, 2005, since there was no billing of JFTC to BSNL / MTNL during this quarter in absence of a tender. During the third quarter of the previous year, JFTC billing to BSNL / MTNL was Rs 421.5 million.
