Indo Asian CFLs initial sales crosses one lakh mark through counters of BSES in just one month
New Delhi, December 05, 2006: Indo Asian Fusegear, one of the largest manufacturers and exporters of CFLs in India has announced sales of more than one lakh CFLs in just one month through the customer care counters of BSES Rajdhani and BSES Yamuna. The energy conservation scheme launched by Indo Asian Fusegear Ltd and BSES in consonance with the Delhi government, under which a consumer of BSES would get one CFL free with each CFL of Indo Asian bought from any KIOSK of Indo Asian Fusegear outside 80 customer care centers of BSES on producing a copy of his paid electricity bill has received overwhelming response. For each CFL of 11 watts, 15 watts, 20 watts under this scheme, the offer is for BUY ONE & GET ONE FREE or 50% flat on MRP. Hence, the consumer would have to pay just half of the MRP of CFL. The scheme has met with a huge response with sales of more than one lakh CFLs in a short span of just 1 month.
Through this plan over 1 Lakh CFLs sold through BSES outlets will lead to a reduction in maximum demand of over 6.2 MW at a given point of time enough to substantiate electricity demand (equivalent to power requirement of two shopping malls) in Delhi and lead to energy saving of over 9 million units annually for the consumers.
Commenting on this success, Mr. V.P. Mahendru, CMD, Indo Asian Fusegear Ltd. said, “We are very excited with the initial response to our scheme in Delhi. This success shows the keen interest of Delhites in energy conservation movement. We are also in talk with other electricity distribution companies in other metros to have the same model and we are sure that these companies will adopt the same scheme in the respective cities for a WIN-WIN situation for the Consumers, Distribution Companies and the Power Generation Authorities.
“Our objective is to bring down the consumption of energy in the city particularly at peak hours by providing effective and economic ways to consumers to encourage energy savings. This has further reinforced our objective of "energy management", which is designing and building products that not only protect and control but also conserve and comprehensively manage electrical energy, added Mr. Mahendru.
