Jet Airways signs contract with CAE for Boeing 777 & Airbus A330 simulators

Jet Airways India Ltd has announced that in preparedness for the induction of wide bodied aircraft into its fleet next year, the Company has signed a contract with CAE, a world leader in providing simulation and training solutions to commercial airlines, for supply of Boeing 777-300ER (Extended Range) and Airbus A330 simulators.

In addition, the Canadian-based company will provide a CAE Simfinity Integrated Procedures Trainer (IPT) for the Boeing 777-300ER aircraft as well as a CAE Simfinity Maintenance Flight Training Device (MFTD) for the A330 aircraft.

CAE has already manufactured and supplied the two Boeing 737 new generation simulators currently operating at the Company's training center at Mumbai. The B737NG simulators, and the new B777-300ER and A330 simulators, all feature the CAE Tropos™ visual system.

The Company's fleet expansion plans of wide body aircraft is scheduled to commence in April 2007 when deliveries start of the 10 brand new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft and 10 Airbus A330 aircraft from the Boeing Company in Seattle, USA and EADS in Toulouse, France respectively.

The Company's Chief Executive Officer Mr Wolfgang Prock-Schauer said "As part of our expansion plans, we are preparing for the induction of the new wide-bodied aircraft into our fleet, scheduled to commence in April 2007. These new simulators will enable us to provide high quality pilot training as we introduce the Boeing 777-300ER aircraft to our fleet and expand our A330 fleet."

Mr Prock-Schauer further said: "CAE offers the highest quality in its simulators combined with the ability to meet our aggressive delivery schedule. After a thorough evaluation, CAE was the right choice as our simulation equipment provider."

CAE operates in 19 countries around the world 40 countries and has over 100 full-flight simulators in more than 20 aviation training centers, serving approximately 3,500 airlines, aircraft operators and manufacturers across the globe.

The full-flight simulator replicates in every detail the cockpit of the aircraft that it simulates. It also reproduces, with great accuracy and realism, the visual environment the aircraft appears to be flying in, including clouds, thunderstorms, and the landing approaches of airports around the world.

Each simulator also recreates operational emergency situations the cockpit crew has to be trained for.
