Satyam Computer Services Ltd has announced that it would be participating in GITEX 2006, at the International Convention Center in Dubai, held between November 18 and 22.
At the event, the Company, along with its technology partners Oracle and SAP, will demonstrate domain competencies in verticals such as public services and government, automotive, banking, finance, insurance, healthcare, manufacturing, telecom-infrastructure-media-entertainment-semiconductors (TIMES), energy and utilities, amongst others.
"Satyam has invested heavily in the MEIA markets and has the Middle East at the core of its future growth strategies. We are closely associated in delivering value to an impressive portfolio of leading companies in the Middle-East, and aim to extend our services and commitment to the region. GITEX is, by far, the best place to take the first steps on successful ventures and create lasting bonds with ME's enviable client community," said Virender Aggarwal, director and senior vice president, of the Company APAC and MEIA.
During a recent visit from the Saudi Arabia Education Ministry to its technology campus in India, the Company proposed a student exchange program for key Universities in Saudi Arabia to train Saudi University graduates at its facilities in India. The program aims at transforming fresh graduates into industry ready’ software engineers, who can function effectively as team members in IT services projects.
The Company launched its MEIA operations in 1996. Over the years, it has acquired a base of more than 150 customers in the region, who were served out of the development center in Dubai. The Company has invested heavily in growing its presence, and focusing efforts in bridging the gap between India and the Middle East. The Company has satellite business operations in Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Al Khobar and Johannesburg, of which the latter two (Al Khobar and Johannesburg) will soon mature into full-fledged development centers. This will not only strengthen the Company’s IT infrastructure, but also increase its focus on Saudi Arabia, which today accounts for nearly 40 percent of the Middle Eastern IT services market. The Company will also be better positioned to serve its current Saudi customers, including Al Rajhi Bank, Dabbagh, and Riyadh Bank.
Over the years, the Company has been providing complex solutions related to IT and Business Strategy Consulting, Enterprise Application Management, Implementation and Maintenance (including ERP, CRM, and SCM), Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence, Infrastructure Management and Engineering Services.
At GITEX 2006, in addition to reinforcing its leadership position in the enterprise applications space, the Company will also underscore its expansion plans in the Middle East region.
The Company will be located in booth WS 43 & WS 47 in Oracle Stand, and in booth WS 10 in SAP Arabia.
