Strategic Debt Refinancing
During the quarter, Antony Waste successfully refinanced the term loan for its subsidiary, Antony Lara Renewable Energy. The refinancing effectively reduced the interest rate on the debt facility by 200 basis points, bringing the rate down from 10.25% to 8.25%. This strategic action is expected to optimize borrowing costs and strengthen the subsidiary's debt service profile moving forward.
Commenting on the results, Jose Jacob, Chairman & Managing Director of Antony Waste Handling Cell Limited, said, "During the quarter, our operating revenue stood at ₹260 crores, reflecting a growth of 6% as compared to Q1FY26.This performance reflects the resilience of our business model and consistent execution across our portfolio. Revenue growth was driven by higher volumes across project sites & supported by contractual tariff-led escalations.
EBITDA for the quarter stood at ₹45 crore. This moderation was primarily attributable to higher operating expenses, including vehicle hiring and transportation costs at the CIDCO plant. Certain waste disposal transportation activities pertaining to Q4FY26 were deferred to Q1FY27 and undertaken during the quarter, resulting in higher transportation costs and an incremental expense of approximately ₹10 crore.
PAT for the quarter stood at ₹0.7 crore, with profitability impacted by a one-time expense of ₹7 crores related to the prepayment of the term loan of Antony Lara Renewable Energy. This was a strategic refinancing initiative that reduced the interest rate by 200 bps, from 10.25% to 8.25%. The lower borrowing cost is expected to deliver recurring interest savings, reduce the finance burden and support stronger cash flow generation from the WtE facility going forward.
Operationally, we delivered healthy tonnage growth across segments, supported by improved utilisation, continued ramp-up of existing projects and stronger throughput across project locations. Our C&T and Processing businesses both witnessed steady growth.
With a strong order book and an expanding project pipeline, we remain focused on disciplined execution, prudent capital allocation and operational efficiency. Backed by these growth drivers, we remain confident in our longterm growth prospects."
