Gujarat Pipavav Port Limited (APM Terminals Pipavav) has announced its standalone operational performance metrics for the first quarter of the fiscal year 2026-27, ended June 30, 2026. The data highlights a steady expansion in container and automotive cargo alongside sequential recoveries in dry bulk movements.
Key Traffic and Cargo Performances
During the April-to-June 2026 quarter, the gateway port demonstrated localized volume gains across key business segments, driven by changing trade patterns:
Container Freight: APM Terminals Pipavav successfully handled 168,000 TEUs (Twenty-Foot Equivalent Units) during Q1 FY27. Automotive Ro-Ro: The port's Roll-on/Roll-off (Ro-Ro) facilities recorded strong year-on-year momentum, handling 65,000 units in Q1 FY27. Dry Bulk Cargo: Dry bulk operations handled 0.52 million Metric Tonnes (MT). While this reflects a minor contraction relative to the 0.55 million MT managed in the same prior-year quarter, it highlights a healthy 15.5% sequential rebound from the 0.45 million MT logged in Q4 FY26.
Liquid Cargo: Liquid cargo volumes came in at 0.22 million MT for the quarter, down from both the 0.41 million MT handled in Q1 FY26 and the 0.38 million MT processed during Q4 FY26.
