GK Energy, One of India's largest Decentralized Renewable Energy Infrastructure Company with a technology-defined, asset-light execution model, today announced that it will deploy 10,000 Off-Grid DC Solar-powered Water Pumping Systems (SPWPS) across Maharashtra under the Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana. The order by the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL), valued at ₹235.92 crore (inclusive of GST), involves the design, manufacture, supply, transportation, installation, testing and commissioning of 3 HP, 5 HP and 7.5 HP solar-powered agricultural pumping systems across the state.
The initiative will support the deployment of solar-powered irrigation systems across Maharashtra, enabling farmers with reliable and sustainable access to energy for irrigation while reducing dependence on conventional power sources.
The latest order further reinforces GK Energy's long-standing association with MSEDCL in supporting the state's renewable energy initiatives. With this project, the Company has secured orders worth ₹ 637.83 Crores (inclusive of GST) from the utility, reflecting its strong execution capabilities and continued role in advancing Maharashtra's clean energy transition.
As decentralised renewable energy continues to gain momentum across India, solar-powered irrigation is emerging as a key driver of clean energy adoption in the agricultural sector. Government-led programmes such as the Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana are accelerating this shift by strengthening rural energy infrastructure and improving access to sustainable energy solutions for farming communities.
Commenting on the development, Mr. Gopal Kabra, Chairman & Managing Director, GK Energy, said: "Over the years, we have built GK Energy as an execution-focused renewable energy infrastructure company with a technology-defined, asset-light operating model. Our strength lies in combining deep rural market understanding with robust execution capabilities, enabling us to deliver decentralised renewable energy projects efficiently and at scale. This approach has allowed us to support large public programmes while maintaining quality, speed and operational discipline."
The project will be executed within 60 days from the issuance of the Work Order/Notice to Proceed (NTP).
He further added, "India's growth story will be shaped not only by the infrastructure we build, but by how effectively it reaches the communities that need it most. Expanding access to clean energy for agriculture is about empowering farmers with reliable infrastructure that supports productivity, sustainability and long-term resilience. We are proud to contribute to this journey by partnering in initiatives that are helping build a stronger, more selfreliant and energy-secure rural India."
Till March 2026 with over 140,000 renewable energy systems installed and more than 617 MW of renewable energy capacity commissioned across India, GK Energy continues to expand its presence across solar-powered agricultural pumping systems, rooftop solar, distributed renewable infrastructure and emerging clean energy solutions. The Company today operates across 7,500+ villages, supporting India's transition towards cleaner, more decentralised energy systems.
The latest project further strengthens GK Energy's role in supporting government-led renewable energy initiatives focused on expanding clean energy access across rural India.
