NLC India Renewables Ltd signs JV agreement with OREDA Ltd for development of Green Energy Projects in the State of Odisha

In a significant step towards strengthening India's clean energy transition and supporting the nation's vision of "Viksit Bharat" and Net Zero Carbon, NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), a Subsidiary Company of NLC India Limited has signed a Joint Venture Agreement (JVA) with OREDA Ltd. for Establishment, Operation & maintenance of 1000 MW Green Energy in the first phase and Development of any other objectives, assets, ancillary activities in the Green energy area not limited to this by forward and backward integration in the state of Odisha.

The JV was signed on 23rd June, 2026 at Odisha by Shri Devendra Pratap Singh, Chief Executive Officer, NIRL and Shri Saidutta Biplab Keshari Pradhan, (CEO OREDA) Special Secretary, Dept. of Energy, Govt. of Odisha, in august presence of Shri Kanak Vardhan Singh Dea, Hon'ble Deputy Chief Minister, Odisha, Shri Vishal Kumar Dev, (Chairman/OREDA) Addi. Chief Secretary, Dept. of Energy, Govt. of Odisha, Dr. Prasanna Kumar Acharya, Director (Finance), NLCIL and other officials of NLC India Limited and ORE DA Limited for installation and generation of 1000 MW green energy power plant(s) across the State of Odisha in the first phase and to operate and maintain the same, subject to establishing techno-commercial feasibility and such approvals as may be required from the respective Board(s) / Government(s), Ministry of Coal (MoC) or any other authority.

NIRL is the Wholly Owned Subsidiary (WoS) of NLC India Limited, a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the administrative control of the Ministry of Coal, Government of India, NIRL been actively expanding into large-scale renewable and green energy initiatives including solar, wind, pumped hydro storage, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), green hydrogen, low-carbon round-the-clock power and waste-to-energy projects.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri. Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, Chairman and Managing Director, NLCIL, stated that the partnership with OREDA marks a significant milestone in NLCIL's strategic diversification into clean and sustainable energy sectors and emphasised on Development of Renewable Energy projects using various technologies for Solar, Wind, Hybrid, Battery Energy Storage System / Pumped Hydro Storage, Green Hydrogen and any new potential RE Technology emerging in future.

The strategic collaboration between NIRL and OREDA marks a major milestone in strengthening India's clean energy ecosystem and reflects the shared commitment of both organisations towards sustainable development, technological advancement and nation-building through reliable and green energy solutions.

Shares of NLC India Limited was last trading in BSE at Rs. 325.50 as compared to the previous close of Rs. 327.00. The total number of shares traded during the day was 116851 in over 1329 trades.

The stock hit an intraday high of Rs. 329.45 and intraday low of 324.00. The net turnover during the day was Rs. 38147667.00.
